Do Epic Shit

Just over a week ago, one of my best friends from high school, Dan Beerman set out on an amazing journey.

He paired up with a photo journalist and they are hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. That means they are hiking from the Southern tip of California, all the way up to the Northern tip of Washington at the Canadian border.

They will be hiking for six months straight, living from only what is on their backs and they are chronicling the entire journey on their blog CaptainsOfUs.com

What is amazing is that Dan does not have extraordinary circumstances that allow him to do this. In fact he planned over a year in advance, working freelance on the side in order to save up the funds to quit his job and take this journey.

Before this Dan had a standard corporate job like many others, but for the next six months Dan is living an extraordinary life and I am certain when the six months ends, he will be a changed person as a result of it.

My goal with this post is to share a simple method that you can use to live an extraordinary life.

Do Epic Shit

That is it, that is my simple method for living an extraordinary life.

Seriously though, try it. Take a step out of your comfort zone and do something epic with your life. Take a break from building that career or climbing the corporate ladder and do something epic.

When Dan looks back twenty years from now, he won't be talking about the extra time he spent in the office. Dan will be talking about the epic trip when he hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail.

Dan is doing epic shit.

I have the same feeling about this journey Elisabeth and I are on right now.

While we will not be traveling forever, we are stepping out of our comfort zones and doing something that we will never forget. It has already been a life changing experience.

What is stopping you?

I talked to Dan for years about this adventure before he finally made the jump and did it. Something like this is what he had dreamed about since high school. Now he is doing it.

What is stopping you? What is holding you back from doing something epic with your life?

If you need some encouragement, check out the epic adventures of Dan and Jonathan at CaptainsofUS.com

Then dive in and do something epic with your life.
