About these terms

jake-jorgovan.com is Jake Jorgovan’s personal site, operated by Waving Banner LLC, doing business as Jake-Jorgovan.com (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to anyone who reads or uses the site. By using it you agree to them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

What the writing is, and isn’t

Articles and podcast episodes share experience and research for general information. They are not legal, financial, tax, employment or other professional advice, and reading them doesn’t create an advisory relationship. Check anything important with a qualified adviser before you act on it.

Jake’s companies and disclosures

Jake is involved in companies that sometimes appear in the writing, including in lists of firms:

Alpha Apex GroupJake co-founded it. Executive search and consulting.
Content AlliesJake founded it. B2B podcast production.
Listen NetworkJake owns it. Podcast growth advertising.
FieldtripJake is a partner in this group of marketing agencies, which includes inBeat, Web Tonic and Bluethings.
Lead CookieJake founded it and has since sold it.

When an article lists, recommends or links to one of these companies, it says so near the top of the page and on that company’s entry. The disclosure applies wherever the company appears in a list, including first.

If any content on the site is sponsored or paid for, it is labelled as sponsored on the page. Jake’s own connections to the companies above are disclosed as described in the previous section, whether or not anything is paid.

Accuracy and dates

We work to keep the writing accurate, but firms change their services, locations and prices, and statistics age. Every article shows when it was published and, where relevant, when it was last updated. If you spot something out of date or wrong, let us know and we’ll look at it.

Using the content

The writing, audio and design on this site belong to Jake Jorgovan and Waving Banner LLC, or to the people credited. You’re welcome to quote short passages with a credit and a link back to the original page. Please don’t republish whole articles or episodes, copy the site in bulk, or use its content to build a competing product, without our written permission.

Names and logos of other companies belong to their owners and appear only to identify them.

The site links to other websites and embeds audio and video from SoundCloud and YouTube. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or how they handle your data. A link or a place in a list isn’t an endorsement of everything that company does.

Getting in touch

Sending a message through the site doesn’t create a client, advisory or employment relationship, and nothing you send is treated as confidential unless we agree that in writing. Any work together is agreed separately, in writing. How we handle what you send is set out in the privacy policy.

Fair use of the site

Please don’t try to disrupt the site, get around its security or access controls, send spam or harmful content through the form, or scrape it in ways that put a load on it. We may block access from anyone who does.

Liability

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We aren’t liable for losses that come from relying on the content, from links to other sites, or or from the site being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws where you live, including in Canadian provinces, that can’t be waived by agreement.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the US state in which Waving Banner LLC is organized and by applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the place you live requires otherwise.

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
